Izzet has over 35 years of Telecoms, Media, Technology (TMT) management, banking and investment experience with a proven track record in originating, structuring and managing both equity and debt investments.

He joined Cube in 2016 to help direct the launch of the Connecting Europe Broadband Fund (CEBF) which has the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Commission as anchor investors. He is now the Manager’s General Secretary.

Izzet was previously with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) where he held the position of Director of the TMT group. Notable deals at the EBRD included, amongst others, Golden Telecom IPO on Nasdaq, RomTelecom debt financing, Polkomtel privatization and a co-invest alongside KKR in the latter’s first investment in Eastern Europe. He also launched a private equity platform in the Middle East and was its Senior Executive Officer investing in the region’s first MVNO and Bharti’s Infratel tower business. He started his career at Southwestern Bell Corporation (SBC, today AT&T) moving through the ranks of its international corporate development group to Executive Director. At SBC, his transactions included the privatizations of Telmex and Telkom South Africa.

Izzet is a computer science graduate from the University of Texas and has an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management (Arizona State University).
