In 2008, Cube signed a partnership agreement with EDF Energies Nouvelles to jointly own and operate solar farms in Spain through a holding company, Fotosolarium Holding. Recognizing the emergence of regulatory risk in the Spanish renewable energy sector, Fotosolarium sold in 2012 its stake in Montesolaica, its largest operating asset, to EDF in order to limit its exposure to the sector. The remaining solar farms had a combined power generation capacity of 6 MW.
Cube divested Fotosolarium to the Q-Energy Group in 2019.
