Rahul Kumar

Rahul joined Cube IM in September 2009. He has recently joined the Connecting Europe Broadband Fund team having previously worked on a variety of projects for Cube Infrastructure Fund I and II in public transportation, energy, telecom and EV charging infrastructure sectors.

Rahul was notably involved in Cube Infrastructure Fund I’s acquisition of mini-hydro power plants in Spain and Portugal (Renewable Power International, 2011) and public bus and rail transport operators in Belgium (Hansea, 2014) and Germany (Netinera, 2011).
He recently led Cube Infrastructure Fund II’s investment for a majority stake in a UK-based owner and operator of electric vehicle rapid charging stations (Engenie, 2019).

Prior to joining the Connecting Europe Broadband Fund to focus on greenfield investments in broadband infrastructure, Rahul managed Cube Infrastructure Fund I’s Power Generation Platform of as a board director of investee companies in Energy from Waste assets in the UK (CNIM Development and Newlincs), photovoltaic and mini-hydropower projects in Spain and Portugal (RPI) and cogeneration, biomass and biogas plants in France (Taranis) until the sale of UK and French asset portfolio. Besides the divestment of CNIM Development and Taranis in 2018, Rahul led the sale of Cube Infrastructure Fund’s 40% stake in Newlincs in 2014.

Rahul began his career at Asset Allocation Advisors – ABN AMRO’s fund of fund management division in Paris.

Rahul holds a Master in Management degree with majors in Finance from ESCP Europe, Paris (France) and a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (India).

An Indian citizen, he is fluent in English and French
